FAQs

Why is there no program fee?

We have adjusted our program and removed the program fee because we believe camp is for everybody. Therefore we want to make it more accessible to a wider variety of people.

Normally there would be an upfront cost for a program like this, for example other work and travel experiences in North America. Instead, your future camp employer will be subsidising your program fees.

The costs that you will be required to cover are outlined about under "your costs".

Am I guaranteed a place at camp?

The summer camps we work with are looking for highly skilled individuals. Placements are based on your application and camp hiring needs.

These hiring needs can change as the season progresses, so the timeline can be different for everyone. Please be patient and connect with the Community Success Team if you have any concerns or questions. If you don't get placed after your first interview with a camp; don't worry, there are other camps and spots available. Not all placements happen early in the season.

When is the best time to apply?

Easy answer – now! The sooner you apply the higher the chance you have of getting placed at one of our amazing camps. The longer you wait, who knows how many roles will be filled already?

How does flight reimbursement work?

Camp Canada provides flight reimbursement after you complete your camp contract. The amount depends on where you fly - up to $1,600 CAD if you’re flying to Ontario, Quebec, or Nova Scotia, and up to $1,800 CAD if you’re flying to BC, Alberta, or Manitoba. You can only be reimbursed for the actual cost of your flight, so if your ticket is less than the maximum amount, you’ll be reimbursed for that lower cost. Your reimbursement will be paid within two weeks of your last day at camp. Please note: early departures are not eligible for reimbursement.

What additional costs may apply?

Although very uncommon, the port of entry in Canada may charge a fee of $155. This impacts less than 10% of participants and may be refunded by your camp.

If placed at camp for more than 10 weeks, extending your health insurance costs $3 CAD per day.

If your work permit does not cover your travel time after camp, you will need to switch to a visitor visa which costs $100 CAD.

Costs may apply for placements in certain provinces; details will be provided before your placement is confirmed.

2026 applications are now open.
