Camp Canada

Does Camp Canada take a Percentage of your pay?

We see this question pop up in our comments section all the time. If you're considering spending your summer working at a camp in Canada, you've probably heard rumours about agencies taking cuts of your salary. It's one of the most common things we hear from participants past and present, and today we're setting the record straight.

No Deductions from Your Camp Salary

To be absolutely clear about your pay: Camp Canada does not take a percentage of your camp salary.

  • Your salary is set by your camp employer and is entirely at their discretion.
  • While we set a guaranteed minimum salary for all first-time participants, there is no maximum cap on what you can be paid.
  • We also ensure that this minimum salary is after any deductions from the camp (besides standard government deductions like income tax).

No Program fees

Whilst there will be some third-party costs that will need to be covered by yourself, there are no program fees for you to pay. Your future camp employer covers the cost of the program fees, giving you access to subsidised benefits.

Here are the benefits you will receive for our First Time Program:

  • 10 weeks of health insurance
  • Virtual Orientation before arriving in Canada
  • Support with a Canadian bank account
  • Social Insurance Number assistance
  • Arrival travel assistance
  • Support extending your stay after camp as a visitor
  • 24-hour emergency support whilst in Canada

How Camp Canada Works?

At Camp Canada, we function as a summer camp placement agency that facilitates and connects you with summer camp jobs across Canada. We also support you throughout your entire journey, from the application process to support acquiring your work permit and your arrival in Canada. However, we are not your employer; the camp you are placed at is.

And there you have it! The salary debate is settled. The bottom line is simple: 100% of your camp salary goes directly to you. If you’re ready for the adventure of a lifetime in Canada, start your application ‘here’.
